Recent property development work includes:
- Joint scheme with a consortium led by Jarvis plc, with Salford Council and Persimmon Homes, for the development of a waterside site in Manchester to create two commercial floors and 70 flats with underground car parking
- Acting on refinancing transactions in excess of £9 million for a bank in relation to partially completed developments comprising a mix of business units, live/work units and residential flats. The project included the arrangement of foreign legal opinion in respect of the borrowers, legal charges, assignment of the benefit of the building contract, collateral warranties from professionals etc
- An acquisition for Barratt of a former factory in North London. This involved highly complex documentation conditional on the seller obtaining adjoining land some of which was freehold and some leasehold and over which freehold and leasehold easements had to be granted together with a lease back of the commercial part of the element to the seller
- Acquisition by Barratt Homes of a former hospital in Harrow for redevelopment with a groundbreaking partnership to provide social housing between YMCA and the Diocese of London
- Acquisition by Barratt Homes of sites by way of option for redevelopment and enforceability of contracts against third parties, involving complex questions of law and also a substantial amount of planning work in connection with Section 106 agreements
- An acquisition for Thomas Homes of 190 plots on an English Partnerships regeneration site in Basingstoke by way of a joint venture with Taylor Woodrow
- Substantial disposals of plots and sites for plots to social housing providers complying with tight timescales and providing for many items to be conditional and some deals even exchanged before the main acquisition contract became unconditional
