The group's work covers the complete range of commercial property transactions including freehold transfers, leases (both for landlords and tenants), purchases and sales of restaurants, pubs, clubs, developments and property investments, as well as other aspects associated with property including planning, UK tax problems and construction.

In the last year our property service handled well over £150 million worth of acquisitions and £250 million of disposals for developers, investors and other clients.

The Property group continues to act for major UK Plc’s, US, European and Asian owned multinationals as well as major banks and other financial institutions. It is an established high quality, cost effective alternative to large and more expensive City firms as well as larger national firms that have traditionally been the only credible option.

The Property group is supported by the Thames Valley’s most successful Property Litigation team as well as specialist planning lawyers and construction teams.

There are also dedicated Plot Sales and Residential teams.

Our property expertise

• Commercial landlord and tenant work. We act for a broad range of high profile clients including Computer Associates, Ericsson, Onyx and Bang & Olufsen.
• Secured lending for financial institutions (including Barclays Bank PLC, Bank of Ireland and The Royal Bank of Scotland).
• Purchases, sales and management of investment properties.
• Development work. The group currently works for major developers buying in development sites and selling on plots and part exchange properties.
• Planning. We have our own specialist Planning team, members of which have worked in high profile planning positions in councils and are ideally placed to deal with difficult and complex planning issues.
• Construction. Our Construction team has international in-house experience and is supported by the Thames Valley’s leading specialist Property Litigation team.
• Support for the firm's Corporate Recovery and commercial groups. We have considerable experience of acting for receivers, LPA receivers and liquidators in the complex sale of property following insolvency and working on corporate support matters.
• Our Plot Sales team regularly deals with over 1,000 plots a year and is widely regarded as one of the most efficient and knowledgeable teams of its type in the UK.
