On 1 July 2015, Andrew Chalkley was, part of the opening panel of the Law Society's International Marketplace Conference 2015: Going Global. With the international legal services market worth nearly £500bn the conference, set out to help law firms of all shapes, sizes and locations identify and take advantage of the available opportunities.
The conference was opened by Catherine Dixon, the chief executive of The Law Society of England and Wales, who set out the importance for firms to think internationally and the role that the Law Society plays in assisting them.
Andrew spoke about Boyes Turner's experience of building a successful international strategy. He focussed on how a pragmatic approach had worked well for the firm.
In particular he discussed the advantages to clients of Boyes Turner's membership of international network Lawrope in addition to having an established stand alone network of other international law firms. The result of this was to be able to provide clients with the best possible advice and service which ever country or jurisdiction that they wanted to do business in both smoothly and cost effectively.
