Boyes Turner Corporate Deals Update
18 November 2015

Chris Dobson and Sophie Payne write about two recent corporate deals completed by Boyes Turner's M&A Group in the Healthcare and Transport & Logistics sectors.

The Glenholme Healthcare Group

Boyes Turner have again acted for the Glenholme Healthcare Group, this time on its disposal of Life Works Community Limited to the Priory Group for an undisclosed sum.

Since its establishment 12 years ago, Life Works has grown into one of the UK’s leading private behavioural care clinics and from its facility in Old Woking, Surrey, offers a range of private inpatient therapies for individuals facing drug and alcohol addiction, eating disorders and depression. The Glenholme Group will now focus on the continued expansion of its portfolio of businesses providing mental health and learning disability services.

The Boyes Turner team was led by Rob Rice (Corporate) with support from Chris Dobson (Corporate), Amie Kelsall (Property) and Mark Appleton (Property).

Speaking about Boyes Turner’s role in the deal, Kent Phippen, Managing Director of The Glenholme Healthcare Group said:

“This is the third transaction that the Boyes Turner M&A Group have now advised us on and we have been consistently impressed with the quality of their advice and the high level of service and all round diligence that we have received from the whole team.”

MBO - International Logistics Group Limited

Rachel Turner and Sophie Payne recently advised Managing Director Mike Stephenson and the rest of the management team of International Logistics Group Limited on their management buyout, with founding shareholder Grant Ashley exiting the group. Equity funding was provided by Percipient Capital, together with mezzanine funding from Santander UK plc through its ‘Breakthrough’ fund alongside term debt and working capital facilities. Over the last 25 years ILG has grown to become a market leader in fulfilment and courier services and is now a significant force in the logistics industry with a reputation for excellence in fulfilment as well as international courier services.

Commenting on the team at Boyes Turner, Mike Stephenson said: “The team at BT simply couldn't have been better. Their common sense advice and support for myself and the managers at ILG was invaluable. They were a huge factor in the success of this transaction and I couldn't recommend their services highly enough."
