We are delighted to have come away with a “highly commended” certificate for Excellence in International Legal Services from last night’s prestigious Law Society Awards, which are now in their 11th year.
For this award, we had to demonstrate the contribution we’ve made around the world and to showcase our innovation in the provision of legal services internationally. The category only recognises law firms with an innovative approach to the delivery of legal services in today’s international marketplace.
This commendation underlines our position as the destination of choice for international technology businesses entering the UK and establishing their head quarter operations here for the wider EMEA market, and we have always had international clients at our core.
It is great to be one of only two firms commended – and to come so close to winning - out of a shortlist of 10. We are always keen to help our clients embrace the opportunities globalisation offers, and our single point of contact service, where we project manage their international transactions, allows us to do just that.
Mark Blunden, Head of Commercial and Technology at Boyes Turner, who also leads the firm’s International and Foreign Direct Investment team, said: “This great result is a testament to our constant focus on helping clients achieve objectives internationally – we work with multinationals, overseas companies and the UK subsidiaries of foreign companies requiring support to grow in the UK, across Europe, and further afield. I’m very proud of everyone who contributed to this, and glad that clients can see the emphasis that we place on being proud of our international outlook, while never forgetting our roots in the Thames Valley”.
"The recognition of this achievement by our legal peers, alongside a number of large City and international firms, underlines the importance that we place on delivering for our international clientele."
Joe Egan, president of the Law Society of England and Wales, said: “I want to congratulate all those who work at Boyes Turner for their extraordinary efforts and commitment to excellence.”
“This year we received a record number of nominations for the awards, highlighting the extraordinary commitment of solicitors to serving their clients … Solicitors from every corner of the land were represented, which shows the breadth of quality throughout the profession”.
Barry Stanton, Head of the Employment Team, who is frequently involved in international work, added: “It is very exciting to see our achievements in the international arena recognised by our legal peers at such a prestigious event, particularly following a period of pronounced growth with global and domestic clients.”
