Enabling managers – HR’s next big thing!
13 November 2017

How to give managers the tools to manage the unmanageable, control the complicated and deal with the disorderly

Many of us will have examples of cases within our own organisations which, had the line manager acted quickly or had the skills to know what to do, could have been managed more successfully. Evidence tells us that better performing teams are more productive and that employees are more engaged. Better trained managers save organisations time and money.

Enabling managers is a big issue for HR as we move forward to 2018. Sounds a daunting task! So, how can HR achieve its goals in giving managers the tools to deal with and manage their people?

Manager enabling training programmes

Manager enabling training programmes which focus on the core legal obligations for managers, can achieve these aims. Boyes Turner’s employment training offer both bespoke and standalone courses which focus on giving managers the tools they need to manage their people issues. Examples of our legal courses include:

•    Equal opportunities and harassment
•    Managing disciplinaries
•    Managing performance
•    Absence management
•    Managing grievances
•    Managing difficult conversations

These focus based manager training sessions are practical and relevant. We concentrate on managers’ duties and responsibilities within a legal framework and give them the confidence they need to act early, rather than waiting for situations to spiral out of control. We can also draw attention to your organisation’s internal policies and processes to reinforce the message of consistency and accountability.

Need a course which looks at other management skills such as objective setting, conducting an interview or effective communication skills? If so, our Soft Skills training programmes have courses which meet your organisation’s training needs.
