On Wednesday 21 June, the No Boyes Allowed team made their way to Dorney Lake, the home of the Olympics, to participate in the Annual Jansons Property rowing event in aid of the Alexander Jansons Foundation…
Our six novice rowers (and one very inexperienced cox) had to row in three heats on the hottest day on record since 1976.
We’ll admit, our first attempt was not hugely successful. However we did manage to shave more than 3 minutes off our time during the second race, and by the time we reached the semis we were even quicker (being less than 30 seconds behind the first boat).
While we didn’t take home the Jansons Cup, we did win a prize for the Most Improved Team.
Although it’s unlikely our team will be winning any rowing competitions anytime soon, we did thoroughly enjoy ourselves and hope to have helped raise funds for the Alexander Jansons Foundation. A big thank you to Jansons Property for hosting the event.
