Paul Lowery, partner and head of the Wealth Protection team at Boyes Turner in Reading together with Ruth Meyer the partner who heads up the specialist Court of Protection team, spoke to an audience from Wokingham Bracknell & District MENCAP at Wokingham Town Hall on the evening of Thursday 8th December 2016.
Paul spoke on Wills and Trusts, focusing in particular on protecting assets and providing for beneficiaries with a learning disability. He also covered Lasting Powers of Attorney and why you consider putting them in place as part of your overall estate planning.
Ruth spoke on the Court of Protection and the procedure to apply for a deputy to be appointed in respect of Property and Financial matters and health and care decisions.
Both Paul and Ruth fielded a large number of questions from the audience both during and after the presentation. The evening was down to the fantastic organisation and hospitality of the local MENCAP Team and Paul are Ruth and the whole of Boyes Turner are proud to be associated with MENCAP.
