Role Description

This is an exciting role for a new person to join a vibrant team.  We are looking for someone that has previous events and marketing experience, preferably in a professional services environment, to run and own the events calendar and also to assist and support with the digital marketing across our main site and be willing and able to provide support to the marketing team on our private client side of the business as and when the team and business requires the support.

You will be working closely with the Head of Marketing and Business Development and the Digital Marketing Manager to help implement business plan objectives, whilst keeping on top of events budgets and logistics.  This is a varied role as we host online and in-person seminars, webinars, attend conferences, industry awards events, corporate hospitality social events online and in-person, and online training.  The role will be responsible for all aspects of the event, including regular communication with the stakeholders, promotions on social media and the website, and to be there on the day to host the events.

We are looking for someone that enjoys and can comfortably handle organising up to 50 events a year, single-handedly, in the office and at external venues when required.

The role is a combined events and marketing role, but events is the main and key priority and element of this role and an ability to promote our events on digital platforms is of paramount importance. There may also be some involvement in staff events.

Experience required

  • Essential to have thorough knowledge of events processes both running/hosting and liaising with conferences as sponsors/attendees with stands etc.
  • The ability to work with all members of the firm to build the necessary team to execute the event, keeping all stakeholders informed as the event progresses.
  • Can use creative ways of solving foreseeable problems and working around issues to get the best result for the event and those involved.
  • Can display the process of working in a busy events function, previous events roles is required.
  • A pro-active mindset to suggest ideas for future events, working on current projects whilst also thinking of new ideas.  An excellent multi-tasker.
  • Happy to be client facing as you will be the point person to our clients, both leading up to the event and on the day.
  • Ability to have flexible working hours so that working hours can be adjusted to enable you to host the events.
  • Responsible for uploading future events on to the firm website, and other necessary webpages such as Eventbrite (training provided if necessary).
  • Strong team player to help other members of the BD team, as required.
  • Knowledge of working within a Business Development team, and a Professional Services firm is preferred.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of InterAction (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Vuture (desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms as a marketing tool (essential)
  • Knowledge of setting up and running Webinars (using Zoom).
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure all elements of the event are organised.
