Role Description

We are currently looking for a proactive and forward thinking Legal Administrator to join our friendly Community Care team based in Reading. 

Reporting into the Senior Associate Legal Executive you will be responsible for conducting matters effectively and assisting in the progress of client files, to develop the skills required to be an effective support and to provide proactive assistance to the team as a whole.

Depending on performance there could be an opportunity for progression to a more senior role in the future.

This is a full-time role, requiring the successful candidate to work from our Reading office 2-3 days per week, with flexibility around which days are office-based.

Experience/ Attributes required

  • 2 + years of experience working within a similar role
  • Work unsupervised on administration elements of files
  • Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Work effectively in a team and on your own
  • Ensure that all tasks allocated by team members are completed in a timely manner
  • Good keyboard and Microsoft Office skills
  • Manage competing priorities and deadlines independently
  • Excellent record keeping

Work type:

  • Ensure file management, case management and administration are kept up to date
  • Assist/provide holiday cover during absences of other fee earners
  • Achieve personal target(s)
  • Assist the practice group in achieving target(s)
  • Develop and achieve firm benchmarks for your role
  • Instruct agents in accordance with your team’s requirements
  • Diary management
  • Document handling on behalf of fee earners
  • Billing management.
  • Depending on candidates experience assist with other ad hoc fee earning tasks
  • Assisting with screening new potential clients
