Start: 08:30 AM
End: 04/04/2019
10:30 AM

Location: Boyes Turner, Abbots House, Abbey Street, Reading, RG1 3BD

Please note that this event has now finished.

For our next breakfast seminar we will be covering two topics:

  1. Why it is now more important than ever that the construction sector ensures compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
  2. Recent construction cases including the latest decisions on “smash and grab” adjudications, liquidated damages and practical completion.

Although the Modern Slavery Act came into force four years ago, it has recently come back into the spotlight. An ongoing independent review commissioned by the Government is due to report at the end of March 2019. The Second Interim Report from the Review, published at the end of January 2019, already recommends that more robust action is called for to increase compliance. We will update you on how the Act and these recommendations may impact all levels of the construction supply chain.

We’ll also be taking a look at some recent construction decisions and what these mean for those in the construction industry.

This seminar will be of interest to all those in the construction industry including developers, employers, contractors, subcontractors and professional consultants.
