Whether termed crucial, courageous or difficult, handling employee conversations effectively is essential. Returning to site, changing terms and conditions, managing performance are current management issues; but if mishandled or ignored they , can lead to long term negative employee and team relationships. However, if leaders know how to turn towards the disagreement, to build trust and improve outcomes then, a far more effective solution can be found.
This virtual training course is led by Performance Psychologist Dr Jonathan Smith and facilitated by Emma O’Connor, Head of HR Training. Jonathan will highlight examples from his own experience of working with Olympic, Paralympic, professional sports and corporate teams to give your leaders the tips and techniques to navigate successful crucial conversations be it at Board, management or client level be it face to face or remote.
- Recognise how to identify the key characteristics of crucial conversations;
- Learn to identify your personal pitfalls to having crucial conversations;
- Learn the key skills to crucial conversations including: recognising others’ perspectives; mastering your story; the “square of communication”; and the follow up.
This course is run live as a small workshop virtual session allowing delegates to share ideas, ask questions and discuss the learning outcomes.
