Andrew managed the firm as its first CEO for 20 years before stepping down from that role in April 2020 to become Senior Partner for the year before his retirement from the firm in 2021.
During his term as CEO he oversaw the growth and expansion of the firm from a turnover of £4m to over £16m.
As Senior Partner he is responsible for the firm’s governance, risk and compliance and is the firm’s Compliance Officer for Legal Practice and Money Laundering Reporting Officer. He also chairs Members’ meetings and the Members’ remuernation committee.
His role involves developing the firm’s profile and reputation, representing the firm in the external market place as an ambassador, spokesman and figure-head as well as facilitating effective internal relationships and providing support to the Managing Partner.
Memberships include the Law Society and Andrew also works closely with a number of consultants and colleagues in management positions and other professional practices.
Andrew qualified as a solicitor in 1982 and started working as a commercial property and then company commercial lawyer where his clients included some of the UK's largest and most successful national retailers. He subsequently realised that his interest lay in management and he has for the last 25 years dedicated himself to managing law firms.
Andrew is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars on professional practice management as well as careers in the legal profession. He has written many articles on management issues and often comments in the media on developments within the legal profession and professional service firms generally.
