Boyes Turner’s specialist asbestos claims team were instructed on behalf of Mr K in respect of a claim for compensation arising out of his diagnosis of mesothelioma.
Mr K was self-employed but worked solely for Stuart Griffin Limited between 1972 and 1997 as a carpenter.
We were successful, despite the fact that he was not an employee, as we were able to show that he was treated as such. He was contracted out to other companies, mainly Samuel Elliot & Sons (Reading) Limited. He regularly came into contact with asbestos whilst working at many department stores and hotels in and around London. He also worked on a Cunard ship in Curacao dry dock and on the QE2 in Southampton Docks.
Mr K’s claim was settled in 6 months from the date of first instruction.
