Andy Whiteaker is a partner and head of the award-winning Employment team at Boyes Turner, having specialised in employment law for over 20 years. He advises clients in a wide variety of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including human resources support, providing employment support for mergers, acquisitions, and disposals, employment tribunal litigation and negotiating and drafting executive service contracts.

Andy’s clients include national and multination organisations, and he provides international support for clients with cross-jurisdictional issues through Boyes Turner’s network of partner law firms. He focuses on providing practical advice, seeking to identify pragmatic and commercial solutions to his clients’ needs, and provides training to in-house legal advisors and HR professionals, as well as drafting and presenting bespoke training seminars and workshops for clients.

Andy brings significant value to his clients by combining legal expertise with commercially focused strategic insight. By understanding his client’s broader business contexts he can align employment strategies with organisational objectives, appetite to risk and market pressures. He assists in anticipating issues before they escalate, navigating complex regulatory frameworks and providing pragmatic solutions to issues including restructuring, senior exits, disputes and cultural change. Through balancing robust advice with commercial realities, he provides practical, cost effective advice aligned to long-term business goals, making him a trusted advisor at board level. 

Andy is ranked in Chambers & Partners and recognised as a Next Generation Partner in Legal 500.   • Advising a client on group litigation pursued by union members alleging unlawful inducements during pay negotiations.
  • Resisting an application for interim relief following the termination of a senior executive.
  • Supporting multinational technology company with variety of employment relation matters across the EMEA region.
  • Supporting an employer regarding the redundancy of the Chief Executive Officer to be replaced by the client’s founder and working to recover outstanding loans that had been paid to the CEO.
