Brian Dowling joins Boyes Turner as a partner from Irwin Mitchell, where he specialised in development and regeneration projects for the housing and charitable sectors. Steph Richards, who specialises in site acquisition, disposal and property finance has also recently joined the firm as an Associate Solicitor.
I am delighted to join Boyes Turner and to be part of a firm that has such a strong reputation for its property practices, says Brian Dowling. The firm has a very strong understanding of the practical and commercial pressures facing developers and having advisors with specialist knowledge is vital. I’m particularly excited about helping developers, charities, and landowners collaborate to unlock sites and bring forward all types of housing in these challenging times.
The appointment of Brian and Steph comes during an exciting period for the team which has seen activity increase during lockdown. William Nassau-Lake, who leads the Boyes Turner’s Development & House Building Team, commented: Bringing on board talented lawyers has never been harder, and I am delighted that Brian and Steph have decided to join us. Their arrival increases our capacity and helps us continue to work closely with our clients, respond to their changing demands and to provide the highest levels of service.
Boyes Turner advises developers and landowners on a range of long-term strategic acquisitions and disposals and collaboration, consortium and promotion agreements, as well as site assembly and conditional and unconditional transactions with particular focus on the housing and health care sectors. The team also benefits from a leading plot sales practice.
