Jenna Poynter

Jenna Poynter is a Trainee Solicitor in the Boyes Turner’s Immigration team, supporting businesses and individuals on a broad range of UK immigration matters. She assists the team with sponsorship and business immigration matters, including sponsor licence applications, skilled worker, global business mobility and high potential Individual visas and general sponsorship queries, as well as supporting individuals with personal immigration applications, including dependent visas and related Home Office processes including queries relating to Indefinite Leave to Remain.

Jenna joined the firm in 2021 as a paralegal in the residential conveyancing team where she assisted fee earners on purchases, sales and transfer of equities as well as dealing with land registry queries before moving to the business support and insolvency team where she assisted on a range of matters, including litigious proceedings, asset realisations, investigations into directors duties, appointment of officeholders and advisory work. 

Jenna then began her training contract with Boyes Turner in 2024 where she gained experience in the firm’s Family Law team and Commercial and Technology team. Through these seats, she has broadened her knowledge and building on her client communication and case management skills.

Jenna is now in her third seat, developing experience in business immigration and sponsorship matters, supporting the team on a range of applications and enquiries for a variety of UK employers and international individuals. She regularly assists with skilled worker visa applications, sponsor licence matters and general visa and sponsorship advisory queries, helping clients navigate complex Home Office requirements efficiently and effectively. Through her work within the Immigration team, Jenna is building a strong understanding of the practical and commercial challenges businesses face when recruiting and retaining international talent and is helping businesses navigate the everchanging immigration requirements to enable them to recruit and continue sponsoring international talent whilst remaining complaint with the UK’s immigration laws.
