Alice Carley is a Paralegal in Boyes Turner’s Medical Negligence team. She supports clients and colleagues throughout the claims process, assisting with the management and organisation of the detailed medical records, evidence and documentation that underpin complex medical negligence cases. Her meticulous approach and attention to detail help ensure claims are progressed efficiently and that clients receive a responsive and well-supported service.

Alice uses her administrative skills at key stages in each client’s case, collating and indexing local authority and school records, gathering and scheduling receipts and invoices to support the medical, educational and financial aspects of severely injured clients’ claims. Complex cerebral palsy and disability cases can generate a lot of paperwork which Alice organises and prepares for disclosure to the defendant’s solicitors or the Court. Alice also liaises with counsel’s clerks and multiple experts in each case to coordinate conferences, which can take place in person or remotely. Despite the challenge of finding a convenient time in everyone’s busy schedule, Alice aims to arrange these important meetings as quickly as possible to move the cases forward for the clients.

Alice supports the team on a wide range of complex medical negligence claims, including cases involving cerebral palsy, severe neurological injury, birth injury, spinal injury, delayed diagnosis and other life-changing injuries. Many of these matters involve extensive medical, educational and financial evidence, and Alice plays an important role in helping to coordinate and manage the information needed to support each claim. Her work helps ensure clients receive a thorough and well-prepared service throughout the legal process.

Amongst her colleagues, Alice’s experience and helpfulness have made her the ‘go-to’ for quick answers, tips and technical fixes. She is always on the lookout for ways to improve her own and others’ efficiency and gains great satisfaction from improving the team’s knowhow or helping make a difference to someone’s day.
