Joanna Goodman is a journalist and author specialising in AI and emerging tech. She is the Law Society Gazette’s IT columnist, and she has covered tech and media topics for The Guardian. Her book, Robots in Law: How Artificial Intelligence is Transforming Legal Services, was the one of the first about legal AI. She recently produced AI/IoT content for Google and worked for Oxford University and Tech Nation on lawtech and innovation projects. She’s always interested in technology that’s new and different.

Margarita has been running Legal Nodes remotely, supporting her team and their families, many of whom are still in Ukraine’s war zone, pivoting the business and launching new Web3 products. Margarita takes us through her fascinating personal and professional journey from law student in London to tech entrepreneur and wartime CEO.

Signal AI started life with three people in a garage in 2013. A young David Benigson, working for his parents’ executive search business, found inspiration as he spent hours manually curating stories for the company newsletter sent to business leaders to help them stay on top of industry critical news. David knew there had to be a better way, he met data scientist and ML/AI academic Dr Miguel Martinez, and the idea to use artificial intelligence to augment this process was born!

Paul Evans is the CEO and co-founder of Redstor. Following a brief spell as a lawyer, he has been working in the business of data management since 1994. After starting out with Memory and Shuttle Technology, he set up Redstor with fellow co-founder and lifelong friend Tony Ruane in 1998. With over 35 years in the IT and mobile industries, Oliver has steered the commercial and strategic direction of the company since its inception. He led the first management buy-out in 2011 backed by mid-market private equity house, ECI Partners, followed in 2015 where he was the lead on the successful transition from ECI to CVC Capital Partners. Driving a number of acquisitions in the past four years, the group’s continuing growth saw Oliver welcome the arrival of Montagu Private Equity in June 2018.
