£68,000 compensation recovered for carpenter with mesothelioma

Our asbestos claims team were instructed by Mr F, a former Halifax based carpenter, following his diagnosis of mesothelioma.

Mr F had worked for Joseph Hawkyard & Sons Limited between 1957 and 1974 carrying out joinery and carpentry work at its workshop premises in Halifax, West Yorkshire.

During his employment, he had frequent exposure to asbestos without any respiratory protection.

Mr F became unwell during the latter part of 2012 and subsequently underwent various investigations, resulting in the diagnosis of malignant mesothelioma in May 2013. He died from the disease in January 2014.

After Mr F’s death his family continued with the claim on behalf of his estate, Boyes Turner were able to help them successfully claim compensation in excess of £68,000.
