Compensation secured for Naval veteran with mesothelioma

Boyes Turner specialist Industrial Disease team were instructed by a gentleman who was diagnosed with mesothelioma towards the end of October 2016.

He was unable to recall any specific asbestos exposure during his working life but could recall asbestos exposure during his time in the Royal Navy as a serviceman.

We therefore advised him to apply to the Veterans UK Agency for a war pension scheme payment. That application was submitted in mid November in 2016 and by early December 2016 he had received payment of a lump sum under the war pension scheme.

He and his wife are delighted to have financial security for her and we are delighted to have been able to assist at this difficult time.
