James joined Boyes Turner in September 2023, and is sitting within the Commercial & Technology team in his first seat as a Trainee Solicitor.

In his role, James has a broad range of responsibilities, such as conducting commercial due diligence, drafting or reviewing data protection policies, commercial contracts or intellectual property related agreements.

He has previously been entrusted with large portfolios of commercial clientele, acting in debt recovery litigation to recover large outstanding sums for businesses and individuals. James carefully guided his clients through the intricacies of commercial litigation to ensure a swift and cost-efficient resolution in recovering monies owed. With this background, he brings with him a sound knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules, strong commercial acumen and a deft interpersonal approach.

During his studies at the University of Sussex, James was personally selected by his tutor to attend the university’s award-winning pro-bono clinic. This provided him with first-hand insight into how the advice and support of expert solicitors and barristers can be vitally important and sometimes life changing. This provided him with the motivation to become a solicitor, with a view to continuing to help others with the same selflessness and dedication that he witnessed.

James is eager to participate in charity work and pro-bono when the chances arise. He has most recently ran the Great South Run, in aid of Solent Mind. He has also taken part in 5-a-side competitions for charity, and will be participating in similar activities with Boyes Turner.
