Janata Ali is a SEN specialist in Boyes Turner’s Special Educational Needs team and has over 21 years of experience in the area of Education Law. She works closely with parents, carers and support organisations to help secure appropriate educational provision and support tailored to a child’s individual needs.
Janata advises clients at every stage of the special educational needs process, from obtaining additional support within school and securing Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments, through to reviewing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). She also represents families in SEND Tribunal appeals, including disputes over the level of provision required and the educational setting named within an EHCP. With extensive experience in school placement matters, Janata helps families secure educational provision and placements that appropriately meet a child’s needs and support their learning, development and wellbeing.
Janata assists families with extremely vulnerable children who have profound, complex and multiple disabilities seeking additional specialist provision and often residential school placements at independent special schools.
Janata has particular expertise in managing complex and challenging SEND Tribunal appeals, including cases involving disputed school placements, specialist provision and multi-faceted educational needs. She is recognised for her extensive experience across the full spectrum of education law and for her ability to develop robust, evidence-based cases that help families secure the support and provision their children require.
She has given many talks and provided training sessions on SEN law, Tribunal Appeals, report writing and EHCPs to parents, charities, therapists and school staff. She also writes articles on all of these areas for parents and other experts on our website.
