Lucy Poulson is a Solicitor in Boyes Turner’s Personal Injury team and Industrial Disease team. Lucy supports individuals and their families following serious injuries, whether from road traffic collisions, workplace accidents, or illnesses contracted through work, including asbestos-related diseases.
Lucy has experience advising on a broad range of serious injury and industrial disease claims, including those involving children, protected parties, fatal accidents, amputations and asbestos-related conditions. She combines technical expertise with a compassionate and client-focused approach, helping individuals and families navigate complex claims with confidence and clarity.
In her industrial disease work, Lucy supports individuals who have been negligently exposed to asbestos and are living with the consequences of conditions that often emerge decades after the original exposure. She understands the significant impact these diagnoses can have on clients and their families and is committed to securing the compensation, support and financial security they need for the future.
Lucy has a genuine interest in the latest developments in medicine and rehabilitation, which closely complements her work supporting individuals who have suffered personal injury. She draws on this insight to advocate for effective, client-focused rehabilitation pathways throughout the course of the claim where possible. Lucy takes the time to understand each client’s needs at the outset of a claim and is particularly passionate about the importance of early intervention, recognising the significant impact it can have on recovery, quality of life, and long-term independence. Her knowledge and commitment in this area have also led her to contribute thought leadership on the practicalities and benefits of securing early rehabilitation, including publication in The Solicitors’ Journal.
Lucy is committed to guiding clients through the claims process as smoothly and efficiently as possible. She works closely with clients to build strong evidence, obtain expert medical opinion and progress claims proactively, ensuring they remain informed and supported at every stage. While recognising the importance of securing compensation promptly, Lucy is equally focused on ensuring that any settlement properly reflects the full impact of an injury or illness and provides for her clients’ long-term needs. Her practical, client-focused approach helps individuals and families navigate what can often be a challenging and uncertain time with confidence.
Lucy takes pride in listening closely to the injured person or their family, understanding their position and priorities and approaching each claim with the care and respect it deserves, taking into account the individual impact on each Claimant and family. Lucy is inspired by the strength and resilience of those she represents during which is undoubtedly a very difficult period in their life. She is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for her clients.
A keen advocate for social mobility, Lucy has organised two PRIME work experience weeks for local Sixth Form students, providing them with the opportunity for legal experience and career advice they may not otherwise have.
In her spare time, Lucy is very active and combines this interest with charitable endeavours. She ran the Great South Run in 2023, raising almost £500 for the Brain and Spine Foundation to help the charity continue its important work supporting people affected by neurological conditions.
