Chloe Fernandez is a paralegal in the Boyes Turner’s commercial and technology teams. She is a qualified CITMA Trade Mark Paralegal and is responsible for the filing, prosecution and registration of trade marks. She helps clients protect and maximise the value of their intellectual property rights, both in the UK and internationally.
Chloe became a member of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys in 2011.
As well as trade mark portfolio management and all aspects of trade mark maintenance, Chloe assists clients in protecting and enforcing their intellectual property rights, regularly preparing cease and desist correspondence, negotiating co-existence agreements and drafting IP assignment documentation. She also supports clients in trade mark opposition proceedings and undertakes detailed evidence-gathering exercises to establish acquired distinctiveness and strengthen trade mark protection. Chloe has a wide network of overseas associates so can assist with the protection of trade mark rights internationally.
Chloe also supports clients in relation to IP due diligence and matters arising from corporate transactions, providing practical assistance in reviewing and evaluating IP portfolios to facilitate informed commercial decisions.

- Advising global water treatment company in respect of its UK and EU trade mark portfolio.
- Negotiating and securing undertakings in relation to use of a confusingly similar trade mark on behalf of our client, who is a well-known figure in the field of psychotherapy and mindset coaching.
- Trade mark portfolio management for leading digital automotive marketplace, including trade mark and domain name watching services and enforcement of its rights.
- Overcoming an absolute grounds objection based on lack of distinctiveness.
