£81,000 compensation after negligent care causes pressure sore after heart bypass surgery

Boyes Turner’s medical negligence lawyers secured a compensation settlement of £81,000 for a man who developed a pressure sore on his buttock as a result of negligent nursing care after undergoing heart bypass surgery.

Our client needed an extended six-week stay in hospital whilst his pressure sores were treated. He also needed extensive plastic surgery to rebuild the damaged area. He was left with a long, unsightly scar. He also suffered fatigue as a result of his injury, resulting in him having to reduce his hours of work.

Supported by expert medical opinions, we helped our client pursue a claim against the defendant hospital, which admitted responsibility (liability) for causing his injury. We were then able to negotiate an out-of-court settlement of £81,000 for our client. In addition to compensating him for his pain and suffering and disability, his compensation included sums for private medical costs, loss of earnings and assistance/care.

If you have suffered a serious injury or disability as a result of medical negligence and would like to find out more about making a claim, you can talk to one of our specialist solicitors, free and confidentially, by contacting us here.
