Boyes Turner’s neonatal brain injury lawyers secured a liability judgment for a boy who suffered a neonatal brain injury.
The boy was one of twins who were born prematurely. He developed necrotising enterocolitis (a serious condition causing tissue death in parts of the bowel) following his birth. This condition was inadequately treated in hospital and he suffered a collapse at one week old. As a result, he needed ventilation but this was negligently administered excessively. He suffered an extensive period of hypocarbia leading to permanent brain damage.
