Kerry is a paralegal in our Court of Protection team. As a Court of Protection paralegal, Kerry's role is centred around providing crucial assistance in matters related to the welfare and financial affairs of individuals lacking mental capacity.
Responsibilities include drafting and filing court documents, liaising with the Court of Protection, and collaborating with legal professionals to ensure the best interests of vulnerable individuals are protected. Additionally, Kerry assists in gathering and managing evidence, communicating with clients and their families, and participating in case meetings. The motivating factors in her role as a Court of Protection paralegal lie in the profound impact the work has on the lives of those who are unable to make decisions for themselves. Advocating for the rights and well-being of vulnerable individuals, coupled with the opportunity to contribute to decisions that safeguard their interests, serves as a constant source of motivation. The role provides a unique blend of legal challenges, empathy, and the satisfaction of making a meaningful difference in the lives of those who require specialised legal assistance and protection.
Before joining the firm, Kerry gained experience as a conveyancing assistant, and worked on a range of files from sales and purchases, to staircasing, remortgaging and deeds of assignments. Kerry has over two years' experience in residential conveyancing, with experience of fee earning on her own matters. Kerry also studied her Law degree part-time at the Open University, whilst working full-time.
With a background in law, Kerry has developed a passion for justice and a profound understanding of the intricate legal systems that shape our society. Kerry's journey in this field has not only equipped her with a comprehensive knowledge of laws and regulations but has also enhanced her commitment to advocating fairness and equality. She embraces challenges as opportunities for learning and growth, and is dedicated to cultivating meaningful connections with those around her.
Family also plays a central role in Kerry's journey, serving as a source of inspiration and support in all her endeavours.
