Emma Wheeldon is a Senior Paralegal in Boyes Turner’s Court of Protection team, supporting vulnerable individuals and their families across a range of financial and welfare matters. She is known for her approachable and compassionate manner, helping clients feel supported, informed and reassured throughout often sensitive and complex situations.
Emma completes Court of Protection applications covering a range of matters such as the appointment of a Deputy, gratuitous care applications and authorisation of expenses. In addition, she manages large Personal Injury Trusts to ensure the smooth management and liaison between the professional and family trustees and beneficiary.
Emma looks after clients with complex needs and is involved in day-to-day management of their property, including property adaptation projects, financial matters such as reviewing benefits, considering statutory funding for care, dealing with tax, reviewing accounts and management of budgets. She enjoys working with case managers in respect to care packages and therapies together with visiting clients in their home. However she has a particular interest in employment issues of carers.
Emma has built up a network of connections with other professionals such as case managers, therapists, fund managers, architects, property project managers and other lawyers.
