What type of accidents lead to passenger injury compensation claims?
Passengers are usually able to claim compensation after if they have suffered serious injury in:
- collisions involving cars, taxis, buses, e-scooters and commercial vehicles;

Who can I claim from after being injured as a passenger?
Passengers who have been seriously injured in a road accident (RTA) may have a claim against one or more defendants, depending on the cause of the accident. These can include:
- the driver of the vehicle in/on which the passenger was riding;
- the driver of another vehicle involved in the accident;
- the transport provider (bus company, airline, railway, travel or excursion company);
- the negligent driver’s employer, such as a school, business, council;
- the highway authority responsible for the unsafe road conditions which caused the accident;
- the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) – if a hit-and-run or uninsured driver caused the accident.

Can I claim for my injuries as a passenger if no other vehicles were involved in the accident?
