DSARs can be used by current, or past, workers who want to know what information an employer has or is processing about them. But, an unhappy worker can use them to help build a case for the Employment Tribunal or as a tactic to pressure an employer into a better settlement agreement. This leaves employers spending significant amounts of time and money finding, reviewing, redacting and reproducing documents.  We have seen a significant rise in the number of DSARs received by clients in recent months, so what should you do if you receive one?
