Reading based law firm, Boyes Turner, is strengthening its support of The Katie Piper Foundation through a series of dedicated fundraising events for the charity. Established in 2009 by Katie Piper OBE, bestselling author, international speaker, and TV presenter, the Foundation aims to find a brighter future for survivors of burns and scars.
Kim Milan, Senior Partner, and Claire Roantree, Partner, both from Boyes Turner’s acclaimed Personal Injury Team, will join other Katie Piper Foundation supporters in a four-day fundraising Sahara Trek in March. The team has already raised £3,360 for the charity, following a successful fundraising event at Valpy Street Bar & Bistro earlier this month. With raffle donations from local businesses including Marlow Brewery, Nettlebed Creamery and Majestic Wine, the event was well-supported by colleagues, industry partners and family and friends.
Boyes’ Turner’s fundraise builds on the firm’s existing work with The Katie Piper Foundation: it was appointed to the charity’s first legal panel last April, to help survivors of burns and traumatic scarring seek specialist legal support and advice, as well as signposting its clients to the charity for rehabilitation support.
Kim Milan explains, “The Katie Piper Foundation’s work is essential in helping to rebuild the lives of survivors of burns and traumatic scarring. Our team shares a mutual passion and energy for this work, and we have forged a really fantastic relationship with them over the last year.”
Boyes Turner’s personal injury team is nationally recognised for its handling of complex and substantial cases and offers clients a combination of legal expertise and practical advice and support, including securing vital funding for early rehabilitation to optimise recovery and outcomes for patients.
Kim adds, “Working with clients with these kinds of injuries, we see first-hand how it impacts lives. This really fuels us in helping survivors through the legal process to achieve financial security for the future. Claire and I have been working hard to prepare for the Sahara Trek – long hours of training and mindset prep – and are truly grateful to everyone who’s supported The Katie Piper Foundation fundraise so far.”
