The Boyes Turner team was delighted to be joined by Zoe from Daisy’s Dream last week, in a company-wide coffee morning to hand over a cheque for £12,298. The charity, which was our charity of the year, provides support for children and young people who have been affected by bereavement.

Daisy’s Dream supports children and young people in preparing for a loss or working with them following the death of someone important to them, and provides advice and guidance for parents, carers, schools, and other professionals involved in their lives.

Boyes Turner organised a range of dedicated fundraising activities to provide much-needed support for the Reading-based charity, from bake sales and hamper raffles through to Football Sweeps and the Grand National. Our very own Suzie Walker, raised £2,500 in sponsorship money, when she joined a team of seven Daisy’s Dream in last year’s London Marathon. Having come through her own breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, Daisy’s Dream is a charity that Suzie wanted to support on a personal level.

The money will:

  • £10,000 will pay for Daisy’s Dream to support up to 30 bereaved children and young people with the 1:1 therapeutic sessions they need.
  • £1,300 will pay for the charity’s duty phone support and advice support for a month.
  • £105 could pay for 5 children to access activities and catering at a group event.

Zoe said, “With a move to new premises, so that we can bring more of our support services onsite, a rebrand and the development of our serious illness work, every penny we raise is needed right now. Boyes Turner have been great to partner with over the last year, as we continue our vision to ensure that no child’s future is defined by bereavement, that with time and support children and young people can move forwards in a positive way.”

Senior Partner, Kim Milan, adds, “Daisy’s Dream is an incredible organisation, supporting children, young people, and their families through seemingly impossible times, giving them the tools and connection to help them talk through their grief and vitally, be able to see that they aren’t alone. The whole Boyes Turner team is in awe of the charity, and it’s been a privilege to support them.”
