A unique opportunity to gain an insight into what it is like to work for our law firm
We use work experience to identify potential recruits for our training contracts. The placement also allows you to find out if you would like to train with us.
During the placement week, you will spend time working in different practice areas and will be required to undertake real fee-earning work. This is likely to include research, drafting letters, attending client meetings and attending court, and you will work closely with a current trainee during your time in each group in addition to working with numerous lawyers and Partners.
Attending work experience is a full time commitment and students are expected to attend the whole placement. Normal working hours are 9.30am to 4.30pm, Tuesday to Friday, with one hour for lunch. Please note, we are unable to offer accommodation or travel reimbursement for travel associated with work experience.

When does Boyes Turner offer work experience?
We offer work experience opportunities on three weeks throughout the year. There are six placements available for each week.
The dates for 2024 are:
- 9th-12th April
- 30th July- 2nd August
- 27th August- 30th August
Who should apply?
We select students from a wide range of universities and disciplines. Both law and non-law students, who have or expect to obtain a minimum 2.1 degree are encouraged to apply. Please note our vacation placement scheme is for second or final year law students, final year non-law students and postgraduates.
When should I apply?

How does the selection process work?
Shortlisting will be based on:
- having or expecting to obtain a minimum 2.1 degree
- being in second or final year (law students) or final year (non-law students and postgraduates)
- the content and interest shown in your application (CV and covering letter)
- all strong applicants will be invited to speak with a member of the HR team to discuss skills, experience and future aspirations in more detail.
