A vacation placement provides a unique opportunity to gain an insight into what it is like to work for our law firm. We offer eight students one week placements (four placements in the spring and four placements in the summer). We use the vacation placement scheme to identify potential recruits for our training contracts. The placement also allows you to find out if you would like to train with us.
During the placement week, you will spend time working in different practice areas and will be required to undertake real fee-earning work. This is likely to include research, drafting letters, attending client meetings and attending court and you will work closely with a current trainee during your time in each group in addition to working with numerous lawyers and Partners.
Attending the vacation placement is a full time commitment and students are expected to attend the whole placement. Normal working hours are 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Thursday with one hour for lunch. Please note we are unable to offer accommodation or travel reimbursement for travel associated with the vacation scheme.
When does Boyes Turner offer vacation scheme placements?
We offer four placements in the spring and four placements in the summer.
The spring vacation scheme will take place: 26-29 March 2018 and the summer vacation scheme will take place 18-21 June 2018.
Who should apply?
We select students from a wide range of universities and disciplines. Both law and non-law students, who have or expect to obtain a minimum 2.1 degree are encouraged to apply. Please note our vacation placement scheme is for second or final year law students, final year non-law students and postgraduates.
When should I apply?
Applications for 2018 are now closed. Applications for 2019 will open in January 2019.
How does the selection process work?
The recruitment panel is made up of a lawyer and a member of the human resources team.
