Rowan is a senior associate - solicitor in the Dispute Resolution group. She has over 10 years' experience of advising on a wide range of contractual disputes particularly construction and IT disputes and is the head of the firm's Construction service. She has experience of dealing with substantial claims in the High Court and County Court and has resolved a number of cases through mediation. Rowan also has a niche specialism advising on commercial agent's claims acting for both principals and agents in relation to claims under the Commercial Agents (Council Directive) Regulations 1993.
Much of Rowan’s work is focused on the construction industry. She is a board member of Constructing Excellence Berkshire and arranges and delivers a highly successful series of seminars on a range of construction related topics.
These include the Society of Construction Law and the Society for Computers and Law. Rowan is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Rowan graduated from Reading University in 2000 having studied Law and French Law which included a year studying for a Diploma in French Legal Studies at the University of Paris X (Nanterre). She then undertook the LPC at the College of Law, Guildford where she was awarded a distinction. Rowan qualified at Boyes Turner in 2004 having trained at the firm and was promoted to Associate and Head of Construction in 2013.
Rowan is an avid gardener with varying degrees of success at vegetable growing – some of her carrots end up in shapes not fit for polite company. She is also a keen cook.
