Session overview

Join us for our in-person In-house legal update seminar, where we will explore recent legal changes and developments and their potential impact on your business.

Our expert lawyers will provide practical insights tailored for in-house teams, covering the following topics:

  1. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory – how contract termination can go horribly wrong and how to minimise risk. Rowan Turrall, Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution will be looking at some of the key pitfalls for in-house legal teams to be aware of when dealing with the drafting of and exercise of termination provisions.

  2. Statutory Speedread – a round-up of change in commercial and technology law. Struggling to keep up to date with legal developments in AI and data and the flurry of new legislation in the commercial and technology sector? Sarah Williamson, and Helen Dobson, from our Commercial & Technology team will guide you through some of the recent and forthcoming changes to help you identify the ones most relevant to your business.

  3. A period of change – the Employment Rights Bill and changing attitudes towards DEI. The Government is pressing ahead with wide-ranging reforms to employment law in the UK, while the US administration is on a divergent path, especially in relation to DEI matters. Andrew Whiteaker, Head of Employment will be looking at what in-house legal teams should be doing to prepare for the changes on the way and to navigate the challenges arising from differing attitudes to diversity, especially within multinational organisations?

  4. Corporate Transparency – a review of recent and upcoming legislative changes and the impact on in-house legal teams. With a raft of changes already brought about by the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act and a new offence of failure to prevent fraud coming into force on 1 September 2025, Duncan Kay, Partner in the Corporate team will be discussing how in-house legal teams can navigate the risks and ensure compliance.
