Nicky Melville

Nicky is a Paralegal in Boyes Turner’s Medical Negligence team, supporting solicitors and clients throughout the lifecycle of a claim. She plays an important role in coordinating the documentation and evidence needed to investigate and progress cases, including obtaining medical records, preparing key paperwork and ensuring information is organised and readily accessible. Her attention to detail and efficient approach help the team deliver a responsive service and ensure clients’ claims continue to move forward smoothly.

At Boyes Turner, our specialist birth trauma and neonatal brain injury lawyers are strong proponents of Legal Aid which plays such a vital role in these complex and high value claims. Nicky assists the team’s lawyers in liaising with clients and the Legal Aid Agency (LAA), preparing applications, monitoring response times and chasing up LAA decisions.

Nicky uses her past experience as a medical secretary to help clients identify, source and apply for the medical records needed to investigate and pursue their claims. She liaises with hospital departments and chases up any responses to applications which her system tells her are overdue.

Nicky plays an important role in ensuring complex medical negligence claims are prepared thoroughly and progressed efficiently. She assists the team with the organisation and management of key case documentation and evidence, helping to ensure information is readily accessible and presented clearly throughout the claims process. Her attention to detail and methodical approach support the team in building well-prepared cases on behalf of clients.

Nicky also coordinates meetings and consultations with barristers, medical experts and other professionals involved in a claim, helping to keep cases moving forward and ensuring the right people are available at the right time. Her proactive, organised and approachable manner enables the wider team to work efficiently while contributing to a seamless and well-managed experience for clients.
