Role Description

This is a great opportunity for a Senior Associate Solicitor who is looking to take their next step towards Partnership within the Court of Protection team.

The successful candidate will take a leading role in the management of the team and play a key role in planning the direction of the team’s future with existing partners.

They will act as a director of the firm’s trust corporation, and as professional deputy/trustee. They will attend annual review meetings, investment meetings and site/adaptation meetings throughout England and Wales and will have their own client relationships where they will act as decision maker and be supported by Grade D-B fee earners.

As part of the role they will also need to coach, mentor and manage more junior staff members.

As an organisation we are operating our business on a hybrid working pattern, with an anticipated that this role will require the individual to be in our Reading office 1 or 2 days each week.

Experience/ Attributes required

  • You will have significant experience in managing high value court of protection matters particularly with clients in receipt of large compensation awards where they will work closely with the firm’s clinical negligence team
  • Making large and varied best interests decisions
  • Developing junior members of the team
  • Keen interest in business development
  • Preparing expert reports on costs desirable but not essential
