Role Description

The Dispute Resolution team’s work covers a wide spectrum of litigation and contentious work.  In addition to providing direct advice on a wide variety of commercial and property disputes, the group provides specialist cross – disciplinary support to other parts of the firm including the Commercial and Technology, Corporate, Employment and Property teams.   

Experience/ Attributes required

Has a good understanding of the legal principles involved and experience of assisting with any of the following:-

  • Contract disputes
    • Company disputes
    • IT disputes
    • Construction disputes
    • Property disputes
    • Contentious probate/trusts disputes 
  • An ability and willingness to be involved in business development activities is essential
  • Good telephone manner
  • Ability to work unsupervised (where necessary)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to draft straightforward documents
  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent keyboard skills plus good knowledge of Microsoft office software
  • Sound knowledge of CPR
  • Can undertake relevant research and communicate results by way of clear explanations.

Boyes Turner is looking to recruit a junior lawyer into its Commercial Property Team. The Team is ranked in the top tier of Legal 500 and is one of the leading commercial property teams in the Thames Valley.

The overall team offers a full range of property services for a variety of clients across not only the Thames Valley and South East but nationally and internationally. Work includes advising on general commercial property transactions, development, secured lending, planning, construction and residential conveyancing. The Team also supports the Firm’s Corporate and Insolvency Teams.

The role is to support the commercial property part of the team led by Nick Carter including freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals, new lease and lease renewals and portfolio management for occupiers and landlords. Our clients include local to national and international clients including Guardian News & Media, Ericsson, Becton Dickinson and Huawei along with local businesses and investors.
