Role Description

This is a great opportunity to join our busy Development and House Building Team based in Reading.  As part of this role you will support with the acquisition and disposals of development land, planning and construction matters and secured acquisition and development finance.

Although training and supervision will be provided, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1+ years’ experience either as a Solicitor, Legal Executive or Senior Paralegal and have engaged with clients to take instructions and draft appropriate documents under the supervision of a Partner.

  • Have an organised working method and an ability to break down complex problems into bite size tasks.
  • Knowledge of development/funding transactions is preferred but not essential provided that the candidate has good experience of handling other property matters (including residential property transactions).
  • An ability and willingness to complete marketing and business development activities is essential.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to develop strong relationships with clients and others in the sector

Work type:

  • Drafting option agreements, deeds and contracts
  • Undertaking due diligence and reporting 
  • Assisting the team with a wide range of other activities associated with development transactions
  • Identifying concerns and risk and identifying practical and commercial solutions
  • Communicating with the team, clients and third parties in involved with transactions
  • Learning about the planning system and how this impacts development transactions
  • Participating in business development activities and getting to know our clients and others in the development community
