Andrew has managed the firm for over 15 years. Under his guidance it has grown from a 12 partner practice turning over £4 million to a 24 partners business with an income of over £16 million. The aim is to reach £25 million in the next three years.
Andrew leads the firm's strategy and its delivery. This includes creating the firm's business plan and putting in place appropriate structures, policies and processes to achieve it. He is also responsible for leading initiatives to support the growth of the firm and building its brand. Andrew works closely with a team of professional managers including the Finance and Marketing Directors and Heads of HR, IT and Facilities as well as heads of services.
A key part of his role is ensuring effective arrangements for managing risk and compliance and dealing with regulatory matters. He holds the office of Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Compliance Officer for Legal Practice.
Under his stewardship the firm has won many awards including Regional Law Firm of the Year three times in four years.
These include the Law Society and Andrew also works closely with a number of consultants and colleagues in management positions and other professional practices.
Andrew qualified as a solicitor in 1982 and started working as a commercial property and then company commercial lawyer where his clients included some of the UK's largest and most successful national retailers. He subsequently realised that his interest lay in management and he has for the last 25 years dedicated himself to managing law firms.
Andrew is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars on professional practice management as well as careers in the legal profession. He has written many articles on management issues and often comments in the media on developments within the legal profession and professional service firms generally.
A seasoned traveller, Andrew has been fortunate enough to visit some fantastic destinations around the globe. The Peter Pan part of him means that he is firmly committed to daredevil activities - and his is a confirmed motorcyclist, power boat driver and holds a private pilot’s licence. When he is feeling less wild he usually settles on playing his saxophone or ukulele or experimenting with computer based music composition.
