Role Description

This is a great opportunity for a Legal Assistant to join our fast paced but friendly team based in Reading.  As part of this role you will provide legal administrative support to the Special Educational Needs Team.

The ideal candidate for this role will be confident, organised, proactive and, most importantly, a team player.

Also in terms of the role we currently offer the position as mainly remote with 1 day every fortnight in the office.

Experience/ Attributes required

  • Ideally will have experience working within a legal environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency within MS Office and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently, without close supervision, as well as part of a team.
  • The ability to consistently meet deadlines and to manage competing priorities
  • A genuine interest in Special Educational Needs
  • A background in private client work is an advantage but not essential
  • Being empathetic
  • Degree in Law (desirable)

Work type:

  • Provide day to day administrative support to the Special Educational Needs Team
  • Preparing bundles for appeals and instructions to experts
  • Maintaining the database ensuring details are kept up to date and opening of new files
  • Setting up assessments by liaising with professionals
  • Monitoring clients budgets
  • Managing client funds and arranging invoices
  • First point of contact for all queries
